How to Achieve Financial Freedom

Intro

Many people struggle with personal finances their entire lives only because they fail to change their money mindset. We hold on to the beliefs of our parents and what society has taught us. We then take these beliefs to solve the biggest financial disorders in our lives, consequently leaving us not much better than where we started.

Are you currently someone that spends more than you earn? Do you wonder at the end of the month where all your money has gone? Do you tend to blame others for your financial situation? Are you afraid of debt? Do you think you have to work harder to make more money? Are you unclear about your passion and purpose?

Mentality, not money, will help bring clarity and positive change to these areas of your life.

We know you don’t want to hear that wealth creation starts with mindset, but it is fact. There is no way around it.

There is a mentality shift that must happen so that as you accumulate more wealth, your current ideologies and beliefs will not squander the riches of your future.

Below we have listed a few rules to remember as you move forward in your wealth journey towards financial freedom.

We have also included a list of book recommendations to help grow your wealth mindset.

Rule #1

Let go of what society has taught you

Society subconsciously teaches us that we should work for money and then spend more money than we make on items that we think will bring us joy. These beliefs negatively impact our financial situation.

Rule # 2

Change your mindset from security to opportunity

After you have let go of what society has taught you about spending, you need to take more risks and get out of your comfort zone.

No one has ever become truly rich by playing it safe. Creating wealth requires taking smart and calculated risks. Keeping all of your money in a regular savings account will not lead to financial freedom.

Of course, saving is important. Ideally, you should keep 3-6 months of income set aside for unexpected life occurrences. However, your money accumulation should not stop there. You should be setting aside at least 10% of your income for investment purposes. This is where wealth starts.

Seek out opportunities. If you have a business idea, turn it into reality. Research some stock and/or mutual funds and invest. Start to looking into real estate. You cannot fully learn investing until you start investing. Do your due diligence and then dive in. Time (and investment opportunity) waits for no one.

Rule # 3

Adopt the Abundance Mindset

It is important to remember to be grateful for what you have. There is no need to envy what someone else has. Instead, be thankful for what you do have and remind yourself that whatever anyone else has is available to you as well. You are free to choose to go after anything you want in life. The only person stopping you, is you.

Adopting the abundance mindset will push back the belief that you don’t have or will never have enough. Once you start fostering the abundance mindset, you’ll realize that you have everything you need to experience joy now, which can carry you into your future.

Rule #4

Start Small

Getting rich is a gradual process, the most important part is staying on the right track and being patient. You’ll have to make small sacrifices daily. You’ll need to foster healthy financial habits. The seemingly small daily decisions you make will help you move towards making money decisions on a grand scale and reaching financial freedom.
